Jan Kielmann is the Director of Nutrition at Functional Wellness. He is a widely respected teacher and leader in the Integrative Medicine field, currently finishing a Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition (DCN) at Maryland University of Integrative Health. 

Jan (pronounced Yann) holds a Masters of Science Degree in Human Nutrition (with honors) from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, one of the most advanced scientific and evidence-based nutrition programs in the country. In addition to that, he is board-certified in Clinical Nutrition (CNS®) by the American Nutrition Association, and an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP), both one the most prestigious institutions for personalized Nutrition in the country.

Jan regards both nutrition and emotional health as the core of healthcare and focuses on nutritional and botanical interventions to support chronic, degenerative and auto-immune diseases, patients with cancer, energy and brain health challenges, food intolerances, mold exposure, Lyme disease, chronic infections, as well as general disease risk prevention and optimal wellness.

Besides his nutritional training, Jan is continuously focusing on the newest research in Botanical medicine (Traditional, Eclectic & Functional Herbalism), Environmental Medicine (Toxins and their effect on the body), Functional Medicine (Underlying root causes of dysfunction), Nutritional Genomics (The interaction of our Genes with the Environment), Functional Immunology (advanced immune system function and dysfunction), the microbiome (our largest organ!) and Integrative Mental Health.

He co-founded the professional Functional Nutrition Forum with currently more than 4500 licensed healthcare practitioners, as well as the public Functional Nutrition Forum, the Fasting, Stem Cells and Longevity and other groups on Facebook and is active on the legislative and public relations level to help bring Personalized Nutrition into its place as the center of Healthcare. He teaches Nutritional Genomics to Residents, Medical Doctors and other Healthcare practitioners nationally and internationally, besides advising, consulting and representing innovative companies and organizations in the integrative medical, nutritional, nutraceutical and diagnostic fields.
