The minimum qualification for a Certified Nutrition Specialist is an advanced graduate degree from an accredited University (MS, DCN, DHSc, PhD) with a minimum of 3-4 years of specialized nutritional training, plus 1000 hours of clinical internships and continuous education, leading to a deep understanding of chemical pathways, nutritional requirements for optimized metabolism in different stages of life, activities, genders, genetic backgrounds and diseases.
